BLACK SEA TRADITIONS AND CULTURE

BLACK SEA TRADITIONS AND CULTURES

Beneficiary: BSER

Objective:
The main goal of this project is to preserve and promote the cultural heritage, observing cultural diversity in the Black Sea basin by making a documentary that will comprise a detailed presentation of the history of the region, the geographical area, as well as the specific customs and traditions of every zone and by organizing a folk festival (traditional music and dance).

Expected results further to the implementation of this project are closely connected to the participation of the partners in the proposed activities. Thus, every partner will cooperate in making the film, together with the movie shooting team sent by the lead partner, comprising the description of realities in the Black Sea areas and will take part in the cultural event to be held in Constanta, where all the Black Sea cultures will meet for the first time. The implementation of the project activities will lead to enhancing the awareness of local stakeholders on the importance of culture in the life of their communities.

Value: EURO 1,000,000

Financing source: ENPI BLACK SEA

Activities:

Activity 1 - Making a presentation film of the Black Sea regions

The film will be between 30 minutes to one hour, depending on the number of the project partners and will be launched during the folk festival.

Activity 2 - Organizing a folk festival (traditional music and dance) in Constanta (Romania) that will take 4 days, of which 2 days will be dedicated to the cultural manifestations, whereas the other 2 days will be dedicated to other festival-related activities. The festival will bring together folk ensembles from every partner country. In the festival, every participant will present parts of the cultural realities of the countries they come from. Thus the festival will create a connecting bridge over the Black Sea bordering countries and will bring forward the Black Sea culture.

Activity 3 - Dissemination. Every partner will get a number of film copies and will be obliged to disseminate them in the region they come from. This activity will be carried out also with the help of the Brussels Office of the National Union of Romanian County Counties that will provide both copies of the presentation film and copies of the project presentation CD to all those interested. In this way, "Black Sea Traditions and Cultures" will be made known outside the Black Sea basin too.

Activity 4 - Reporting and auditing. This activity refers to organizing a press conference where the project results will be presented as well as the way in which it will be continued.
