BLACK SEA DOCS

Title/Project Idea:
BLACK SEA DOCS - The International Documentary Film Festival of the Black Sea & S-E Danube Region

Beneficiary : Black Sea Euroregion

Objectives:
- Better knowledge, understanding and cooperation between the countries of the above mentioned regions through the efficient tools of the documentary film
- Preserving and promoting, through specific audiovisual ways, the Material, Immaterial and Natural Patrimony (culture, traditions, multicultural heritage, tourism, ecology) of the Black Sea & S-E Danube regions, inside and outside the aria
Strengthening the intercultural and professional dialogue by creating a Network of high professionalized documentary film specialists in the mentioned regions to sustain the present Program Objectives; facilitating their work together according the market economy rules

Activities:
1. “Black Sea Docs – International Documentary Film Festival” – A 5 days competition for documentary films produced in the countries of the Black Sea & S-E Danube regions on Material, Immaterial and Natural Patrimony themes. – To be held in Neptun (Club Bazin) –Mangalia - Romania and to be awarded with the trophy “Black Sea Callatis” (under “The European Year of Creativity & Innovation-2009”)
2. “Callatis Docs-The most beautiful documentaries” – Training for young documentary film directors coming from Black Sea and S-E Danube regions; they will pitch local/regional doc. Film projects for EU market .
3. Other activities during the Festival: Folk and multicultural activities (as folk dance, music, documentation and cultural tourism), Festival Club ”From Danube to the Sea”/”Delta-Point of convergence” (multicultural dialogue, ecology, development), Symposium “Creative & Journalistic values of the Doc. Film” (see no.4)
4. Creating The Black Sea-Danube Documentary Film Network (with 3 meetings & film presentations/ competitions & work on progress on projects in Neptun, Herculane and Suceava).
5. Realization of a Documentary film (60 min) and a Photo album with the contribution of all the young professionals trained in the activity nr. 2. All the partner-countries will cooperate in making the film together with the shooting team sent by the lead partner.
6. Disseminating the film and photo album in all the countries involved EU countries and international. All the partner-countries will receive a number of DVD copies/photo album exemplars in order to disseminate them.
7. Follow up and supporting activities: Auditing and Reporting – Press Conference and other PR activities.
